Ich habe also behauptet, daß Batman der Altmeister des Parkour (as opposed to Parkuhr ) sei, ohne das weiter zu erklären. Das möchte ich aufgrund einschlägiger Beschwerden nachholen. : )

The beautiful world that never was.

Addendum: "Celebrities without makeup" via Isotopp
Addendum: Yours truly with no edits. Could use a little photoshopping for the rings around her eyes, that one.
Wherein I provide a practical example for my notes on how role-playing on a MUSH differs from role-playing at home with one's friends.
It all boils down to what the expectations are. My expectations were shaped by books, plays, and movies. Consequently, I expect my in-game dialogue to be as flowery (or tragic, or cool) as that which I read in books or see in movies or plays. Unfortunately, I'm usually out of luck looking for that in LARPs or pen+paper groups — it is the rare player who is sufficiently poetic, quick-witted, and funny; most dialogue ends up sounding somewhat trite because the players do not have as much time to mull over their dialogue as an author might. To wit, most people do not speak acrolect.

May contain spoilers for those several months behind on their DC lore; if you read translated comics, this might mean you.
I'm not too happy with Detective Comics at the moment; it's not just the killing off of my character (Poison Ivy, in Gotham Knights 61-65, Human Nature ), it's also that rape in Identity Crisis (you know, that whole Women in Refrigerators² thing, a term coined by Gail Simone, formerly of You'll all be sorry-, now of Birds of Prey -fame; see also G.D. Schmitz' comment).
Scott Tipton sums it up thus:I guess what it comes down to for me is this: before Identity Crisis, there was at least one happily married superhero in the DC Universe involved with an intelligent, competent woman. Now there isn’t, and I have my doubts that whatever comes out of the series when all is said and done is going to provide vastly better storytelling potential than that.
Do you really think we'll pull through?

Hellooooooooooooo, Moto!

  Official Survivor
Congratulations! You scored 72%!
Whether through ferocity or quickness, you made it out. You made the right choice most of the time, but you probably screwed up somewhere. Nobody's perfect, at least you're alive.

« Oh my God, I've been kidnapped and taken to France! What am I going to do? Got to say something, or they'll attack me with loaves of bread shaped like phalluses, and drag me to the guillotine! » Yes, I'm reading e2 again. « U Mary bila malenkaya ovtza. » Everything is funnier in Scottish, you know.
« We are still good friends. I'm reading everything. »
Are cat-allergies soon to be a thing of the past? Are Wikipedians INT-mutants? And could I be bloody azundris bloody com? While we're trying to work it out, Dresden is conducting shite tests. What can I say? We need some stuff, we know some stuff: Comics used to be pretty damn weird in the olden days. And the chicken came before the cathedral. No, honestly.

Introducing MySQL-dump, my weblog about my experiences with MySQL software.
Did you know that Hedy Lamarr (of Ecstasy fame) invented WiFi?
Me neither.
